⚗️ How to Use

Pinellia Rhizome — Pinellia must never be used raw — it is toxic and must be properly processed (typically prepared with ginger or alum) before medicinal use. It is almost exclusively used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as part of compound formulas prepared by a qualified practitioner. Processed Pinellia (Zhi Ban Xia) is decocted at 3–10 g alongside other herbs for 20–30 minutes. It should not be self-prepared or self-administered at home. Pre-made TCM patent formulas containing processed Pinellia are available and considered safer for general use when sourced from reputable suppliers.

Safety & Cautions

Must be processed before use; toxic when raw. Avoid in pregnancy.
