⚗️ How to Use

Coptis Rhizome — Coptis is prepared as a water decoction: simmer 3–10 g of the dried rhizome in water for 20–30 minutes and drink the strongly bitter tea. It is almost always used in traditional Chinese formulas combined with other herbs to moderate its potency. Tinctures and tablets standardized for berberine content are also available. Because of its intense bitterness and potency, it should be used under professional guidance and not taken long-term without supervision. Short courses of 1–2 weeks are typical for acute conditions like infections or digestive heat.

Safety & Cautions

Avoid long-term use or during pregnancy.
